Dear tourists,
The Peruvian system of services and products sometimes differs to that in your home country. We strongly suggest you read the following carefully.
Travel in Peru: Innova Travel EIRL operates in regions where standards of accommodation, transport and services might not be those you would normally expect. However we strive, with all due care and skill, to provide the best services for our tourists. Travelling in Peru requires flexibility, patience, broad-mindedness, good humour and understanding that changes may be made without notice due to circumstances beyond our control (Force Majeure - see below). By booking any of our tours you agree to InnovaTravel making necessary changes without liability.
FORCE MAJEURE: This is any event that InnovaTravel could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. This covers events such as war or threat, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, disease, disaster or adverse weather conditions, fire or all similar events beyond our control. In this case, InnovaTravel will not accept liability and reserves the right to change, postpone or even cancel the trip (this is the last option of course!)
Travel Insurance:It is the client's responsibility for obtaining sufficient personal travel insurance. The client is willing to accept full responsibility for insurance up to limits that the client may require. This insurance must cover personal accident, medical expenses, air ambulance, loss of effects, repatriation costs and all other expenses which might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury delay or inconvenience occurring to the client. It is compulsory that all clients have personal travel insurance. When obtaining travel insurance the client must ensure that the insurer is aware of the type of travel to be undertaken.
Risks: By booking any of our adventure trips (Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Salcantay, Ausangate, Choquekirau trek etc.) you assume the risks associated with them. For these InnovaTravel accepts no responsibility.
Sending your personal details for Booking: your passport number must be a valid one, please advise us if you have or will change your passport after booking the tour (Inca Trail Hikes authorities are not very nice when checking passports at the control at Km 82). ISIC card (if applicable) must also be valid at the time of commencing your Inca trail.
Making a Reservation (Deposit): To secure a reservation of a tour package, it is necessary to make a payment of considerable amount of TOTAL package cost, the balance will be paid upon arrival in Cusco.
Student rate, in order to obtain this discount you must have a valid isic card. It is important you scan and e-mail this to us at the time of booking.
Deposit can be done through: All Transaction fees are covered by the client and it is not included in our tours prices.
Tho days before your trek there will be a pre-trek talk (brieffing) in our office at either 6 or 7pm (exact time will be confirmed).
Payment of Final Balance: We require you to pay your final balance in our offices at least 48 hours minimum before your trek leaves. Currently, we accept cash only. We maintain the right to cancel your trek upon failure to make payment in this time-frame if you have not previously advised of a delayed arrival etc. (currentely $1 USA = 2.90 soles - January 27th 2012)
Final balance can be paid in cash.
Cancellations:
Innova Travel is a professional, responsible tour operator with an excellent reputation for quality and service. check some of our Happy Customers We have no intention of cancelling any of our clients trek reservations and can confirm that to date Innova Travel has been lucky never to have had to cancel a trek due to either failure to purchase the trek permits for the group in time or due to matters outside of our control such as strikes or landslides.
(1) Deposit sent for booking is Non-refundable or transferable.
(2)We must be notified of any changes or cancellations to your trip as soon as you are aware of them, via e-mail or fax.
(3)Once final balance has been paid: We will not be able to refund your trek payment for cancellations. However there will be parts of your trip that you are able to use (
The unused Inca Trail trek permit will be returned as well as the train ticket for Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and the bus ticket from Machu Picchu down to Aguas Calientes. If you have hired the services of an extra porter we cannot refund your payment and the porter will continue on the Inca Trail as originally contracted to do so. If you have hired a sleeping bag we will refund this amount in full).
(4) A claim letter for your insurance company can also be provided by us upon request.
VERY IMPORTANT: We strongly suggest staying at high altitude (above 3000 metres - in Cusco or another high altitude city) for 2 to 4 days (minimum) before undertaking the trip. This is in order to minimize the effects of possible altitude sickness. Also, you can help your body acclimatize by drinking plenty of liquids, adding a bit more sugar to your drinks, eating food rich in carbohydrates, avoiding cigarettes and alcohol and drinking coca (ancient traditional leaf) tea. Diamox can also be helpful please ask your doctor for prescription.
