Special Tips for Traveling in the fall or Any Time of the Year

Fall is for many the best time of the year for travelling. The main reason is that there are not many people who travel in the fall and if you haven’t it is highly recommended.

Travel tips

Here are a few good travel tips for your next journey. Some of these have been suggested by friends and some of these have been learned the tough way.

A hat

Always pack a hat. When it is winter, a knit hat keeps youwarm and doesn’t take up much room. If it is a hot environment, a brimmed hat keeps the sun off your face.

Laundry

Packing for a trip is much easier when you have just done laundry – everything you will pack will be clean.

First aid kit

Always bring a travel kit for first aid kit with the following:

  • Decongestant
  • Ibuprofen (or other over the counter pain killer)
  • NyQuil
  • Hydrocortisone cream
  • Bandages

You will never believe how many times these will come in handy.

Wheeling bags

Luggage with wheels is truly amazing. A backpack might seem agile, but have you seen anyone trekking across an airport with one of them on their back? Nimble doesn’t come to mind; sciatica, maybe, but not nimble. Luggage with wheels is a gift from God!

Camera charger

Always bring you’re the charger for your camera charger. It does not take long to go through batteries especially when friends or family insist on flipping through all the pictures that you have taken.

Ironing

Don’t pack any clothes requiring ironing because you don’t want to carry an iron and not every hotel room has one.

Tennis shoes

Pack those awful tennis shoes you only wear for jogging. There will come a point during a trip when you will not care what you look like. You will only care about being comfortable.

Motion sickness

If you always suffer from motion sickness – ask for a drink of half club soda and half ginger ale. It will stop any nausea without causing you diabetic shock.

Items never to check

This is important information – never check these – toothbrush, prescription medications, deodorant and your pajamas.

Handy tips

These are tips that come in handy and if you think they are silly – wait until you skip one and really need it.
